Website redesign for swim club
UI/UX, Web Design, Figma, Branding, Sports
I collaborated with a team of five to redesign AGON's website, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) swimming organization. Using our prior training and knowledge of Wordpress and Figma, we were able to successfully design a modern and user friendly site for parents, staff, and sponsors.
New face of AGON Swim Club
During my UX internship with Serve IT I worked with a team to redesign a local competitive swim team’s website (AGON). While working directly with our client, we developed sitemaps, style guides, and wireframes. We designed pages in Wordpress, developed basic familiarity with security, accessibility, and usability skills, mobile responsiveness, SEO, and used project management tools to guide our work. It was important for us to focus on AGON's purpose and sponsorship goals to drive the future of this site.
Original Website Issues
The original site was unwelcoming and confusing to potential new members. After defining pain points and using site comparison, my team was able to challenge ourselves and give back AGON a site that is user friendly for not only staff and sponsors, but potential new members and parents.
Where We Made Room for Improvement
The swim club website redesign focuses on addressing several key areas for improvement to enhance usability and functionality. On the Home and About pages, efforts will be made to improve SEO and add personalized content that highlights the club’s non-profit mission. The Sponsors page will be optimized to make it easier for users to become sponsors, ensuring clear and intuitive navigation. Additionally, clickable logos and icons will include clear visual cues to indicate they redirect to relevant pages or resources. On the Team Info page, the redesign will focus on making the calendar schedule more visible and ensuring all links are accessible, creating a more seamless and user-friendly experience.
As part of the swim club website redesign, my team and I collaborated on a comprehensive process to ensure an improved user experience. We developed detailed style guides to establish a consistent visual identity, created site maps to organize content effectively, and designed wireframes to visualize the updated layout and functionality. To understand our users better, we crafted personas that represented their needs and goals. Additionally, we conducted heuristic evaluations to identify usability issues, ensuring the redesigned site is accessible, intuitive, and engaging for all users.
